Disclosure: I worked at Arni's for about four years when I was in high school and college. I've been back to eat a number of times since then, but it's been 3 or 4 years since I've been back. Arni's is a really simple, no frills pizza and sandwich shop. I think you can still get a large pizza for under 10 bucks, and all of the hot sandwiches were in the 4-7 dollar range. It's a neighborhood friendly place and the employees are local high school kids. The pizza is good. It's a thin crust, cheese and toppings heavy pizza. The crumbly pepperoni is nice. A lot of people rave about the sauce, but back when I worked there it was literally just a tomato paste and water blend, with some oregano tossed in if you asked for it. It was good, but not exactly anything to brag about. Maybe they've updated in the last few years. My favorite pizza is a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom with extra cheese. Or a deluxe. As far as sandwiches go, the stromboli and texas bbq sandwiches are good. If you like jalapeno peppers, the gutbuster is a great deal. As far as what to avoid? Back in the day I'd have told you to steer clear of the ham and cheese sandwich and the salads, because they were super plain and uninteresting. But I've heard they've updated those menu items in the last few years, so maybe that's out of date. They're also willing to do plenty of custom requests if you ask (...or at least I used to be...) - I'd recommend adding pepperoni to the sandwiches, and oregano or other seasoning to the pizza sauce/cheese.

I have been eating this pizza for 20 years and it never gets old. My favorites are the BBQ pizza and Texas BBQ sandwich. I don't live in the area anymore but when I come back into town this places is a must visit!

We have ordered many pizzas over the years from Arnis. First and foremost because of its convenient location to our home and secondly because of our desperation for something quick and easy. The pizza is crispy and on occasion has been burnt. We usually order a mushroom and sausage or the supreme. They are consistently the same quality each visit. It's not a four or five star pizza, but it's better than a national corporate chain. Although, the prices are a bit higher. We have also had their subs and salads. The subs are average and the salads fall far below my expectation of edible. It's literally the cheapest iceberg lettuce mix straight from a bag accompanied with a packet of dressing. Most of their employees are teenagers which have done a GREAT job every time I've visited. During my last visit, I noticed a few older adults working, which was out of character for this location. There was a woman in particular that exuded hating her job. She had the rudest disposition. I almost didn't complete my order at the register because of her negative vibe. Other than this last visit, I've had a consistent average experience at this location for over ten years.

So I had the Texas BBQ sandwich It was good but not as good as pizza king in Evansville Indiana. I would give food a 3.5 star It was good. But better than the food was the service. Nice young fella took my order on phone. It was ready when they said it would be and then they were polite when I paid. Also 5star is that it is less than a mile from home. Will definitely go back again and try other things on menu. Prices very reasonable too.

Maybe the problem is that I am not a thin crust pizza kind of girl, or that my expectations were too high, but I was not wowed by this pizza. We ordered 3 different kinds for carryout - cheese , sausage and barbecue chicken. I have had some pretty awful pizza since moving to rural Indiana and this definitely did not fall into that category, but it also didn't fall into the 5 star category. My biggest beef is that it wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping it would be. Even the Barbecue Chicken didn't have a real strong barbecue flavor. Everyone gobbled up all 3 types of pizza, but no one raved about it and asked that we order from here again. I will definitely give them another try - maybe for the sandwiches next time.

The best pizza in all of Indiana. Even though we now live in NC, we still make the pilgrimage to Arni's for the square cut pizza. The pepperoni and jalapeño is always great. We also really like the crumbled sausage pizzas. Certainly worth the special trip.

I had the pizza, it was ok, better than a chain place and a tossed salad that left a lot to be desired. Everyone in the place was eating chili, not sure if it's cause it's that cold out or because it's good. My coworker had a chicken sandwich that he said wasn't to bad. We'd probably go back, but then again there aren't too many other option.

Have never ate anything there but their pizzas. They have awesome pizzas....much better than some of the big name pizza places. Just wish they would build an Arnis in louisville...

Having lived in Floyds Knobs for three decades, this is my guilty pleasure. Arni's is a small chain of I believe 15 restaurants. Love the pizza and most importantly, they work with me since I have serious allergic reactions to certain items like mushrooms, bell peppers & red meat and pork. They have done an outstanding job over the years to ensure that I don't end up in the emergency room. The pizza is great and its even better the next day.

Arnis is a great, Indiana pizza. Its been around for years. They're not trying to compete with world renown pies here. They're just keeping their family owned business simple and in state. Don't go in expecting classic Neapolitan pizza. Go in expecting greasy, cheesy, hot, crispy pizza. (Ask for extra paste). Try their salads too. The Arnis JR is good. The Indy locations are much larger and are actually full size restaurants. Full menus with more food items. Most Hoosiers understand Arnis simple legacy. For the ones who don't, more for us!

I was with a friend who swears by Arnis when he stop by for lunch recently. Update it still the same garbage pizza place it has been for the past twenty years. To respond also to the other review about me not liking the crust, I have been around the country and world. Believe me I have pizza from just about everywhere personal favorite is Pat & Oscar's in SoCal. Also I have pizza Margherita in Naples, Italy and those lazy Italians would not even recognize this filth as pizza. But hey don't take my word for it and go waste your money and say hi to the cops who hang out there for lunch.

When I get in the mood for pizza there is only one place on earth I want to go, Arni's. Growing up in "The Knobs", Arni's was a staple in our house. Now, out on my own with my own family, Arni's is the pizza of choice in our house. Not only do they serve pizza, the also serve sub sandwiches, soups, and salads. My pizza of choice is the Deluxe. Many people I have swayed to The Dark Side with the Deluxe. The restaurant itself I don't think has been updated since the 80's, heck maybe even the 70's. The atmosphere is that of a local hometown pizza joint. There is always someone plunking quarters into the jukebox machine and you have your choice of about four video games that most kids have never heard of today to play while you wait for your pizza. You can either eat in, or take out. Arni's pizza is best served hot. Although, a friend of mine swears it's best served cold for breakfast. As for the other food, I can honestly say that I have only tried the Gut Buster, one time. Don't let anyone talk you into a whole sandwich to eat in one sitting, half is plenty, trust me..... Next time you are up this way stop in and try the pizza. You won't be disappointed.

It's greasy and good. Don't be put off by the comments about the crust being strange, it thin and crispy, and cornmeal based...a really different experience. Anybody else who doesn't like it, probably has only had Papa John's their whole life.
